Sometimes it takes a little something special to really get people in the Christmas spirit. So here are six things to do right here in Lubbock that might light that spark in you and your family.

  • 1

    Texas Tech Carol of Lights

Even though the actual lighting ceremony already happened, it's still beautiful to drive or walk through the Texas Tech campus and admire the thousands of lights on the buildings and quad.

  • 2

    Lubbock Santa Land

Santa Land in Mackenzie Park is always fun for the whole family. Plus, the kids can sit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

  • 3

    Candlelight at the Ranch

The National Ranching Heritage Center always does Candlelight at the Ranch. It's a really cool look at a pioneer-style Christmas, and the lights throughout are beautiful.

  • 4

    Carriage Rides in Kingsgate Center

Kingsgate Center has always had carriage rides. And now I heard that FedEx in Kingsgate North is offering them for free! (Don't quote me on that, but it's worth it to check it out.)

  • 5

    The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a blast for kids of all ages. It's on an actual full-size train with carols, hot cocoa, cookies, dancing chefs and music from the movie. Plus, kids can wear their jammies.
