Size matters.

Robert Bobroczky, 16, is a a 7-foot-7, 190-pound Romanian who suited up in his first American varsity basketball game earlier this month for Geneva, Ohio's SPIRE Institute. He played a few minutes in his team's 87-51 blowout loss to First Love Christian Academy in Washington, Pa.

"It felt nice to play finally," Bobroczky said. "The game was as fast as I expected and I still need to work a lot. I just have to be patient and work, and the results will come."

Bobroczky is a freshman after settling at SPIRE following a two-year layover in Italy where he also played basketball.

He carries a 4.0 GPA and can speak four languages, so whether his basketball IQ can match the one off the court remains to be seen. And before you anoint him a lottery pick in the NBA, just know Bobroczky is aware that he has a lot of work to do.

"I'm mostly trying to get my body stronger and better," he said. "I'm eating 4,000 calories per day and want to weigh between 220-230 pounds by the end of this season. I'm also working on my speed, mobility and every part of my game."

And here's an interesting piece of info. His father is 7-1 and played on the Romanian national team with 7-7 Gheorghe Muresan, who played for the Washington Bullets.

Bobroczky has already attracted a lot of attention, even before he suited up stateside. Check it out below.
