The Lubbock Police Department will be shutting down parts of Interstate 27 and 82nd Street Wednesday (July 11) morning for an accident investigation.

Accident Investigators will be looking into a July 4th crash that occurred on I-27 between a motorcycle and a car. Officers will shut down the northbound lanes of I-27 between the 34th Street and 19th Street exits. Northbound I-27 traffic will have to take the 34th Street exit and then rejoin I-27 just past 19th Street. The closure will go into effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning and is expected to last two to three hours.

After the I-27 closure is completed, investigators will go to the 1500 block of 82nd Street. Officers will then shut down westbound traffic on 82nd Street between Avenue L and Avenue P to investigate a July 6th crash. The closure is expected to begin around 10 a.m. and last approximately two hours.

Keep these closures in mind during your Wednesday morning commutes.
