What songs by Texans do other Texans think suck? Well, a Canadian company wanted to find out. Because of the Super Bowl or something. I really don't know.

I get a LOT of random emails from people wanting me to talk about their stuff on my radio stations. I normally just delete most of it. But on occasion I'll find something at least a little interesting, but it's not often.

So I saw this headline in my inbox:

This is from the people putting on the Super Bash Houston party. The Super Bash info is in another blog, because it sounds kind of awesome, too.

That aside, the Super Bash people wanted to know something about us Texans since they were about to throw us a super music party in our own house. But first, they wanted to find out a little more about our musical tastes. Not necessarily what we LIKED, but what we didn't. Here's how they explain it:

The Super Bash’s team of music enthusiasts first pored over the best and worst of Texas tunes, listening to a wide array of Texas-based and Texas born songs. Yes Texas, Vanilla Ice, Ashlee Simpson and RiFF RaFF are all home grown talent. Eventually, the team boiled the troubled tracks down to a list of six finalists and asked Texans to flag the greatest offenders.

So here are the worst songs according to the survey:

(Honorable Mention went to Billy Ray Cyrus and "Achy Breaky Heart," which just shows how dumb some Texans can be. He's not from Texas. Neither is the song.)

Coming in at #6 is LeAnn Rimes "Can't Fight The Moonlight" from Coyote Ugly.

But it wasn't all country. At #5 was Sir-Mix-A-Lot, who is actually from Seattle, with his name-dropping-but-no-lyric-having song "Jump On It." I assume because it says Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and finally Houston in the song...maybe? Although the Sugarhill Gang original version mentioned Native American people than cities.

At #4 is a true Texan with a song about Texas. George Strait's "All My Ex's Live In Texas." This proves there was a diverse amount of people taking this survey, because EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY MUSIC FAN EVER LOVES THIS SONG!

#3 is also a Dallas, Texas native. Rob Van Winkle, AKA Vanilla Ice, with his Queen rip-off of "Ice, Ice Baby."

I don't know anything about Riff Raff or why they took the #2 spot. Apparently they are also rap, and rap didn't fare too well in this list of the worst. OK, I listened to it and I think maybe it should be #1! Careful -- this song sucks. And there's language in it if you can understand it.

And our grand winner of the worst Texas song by a Texan is...Ashlee Simpson's "La La". OK. I'm done now.
