An ice climber in the U.K. is alive after losing his footing and falling 100 feet down the side of a mountain. And he was wearing a helmet cam, so it's all on video.

First you see the climber above him accidentally break off a big piece of ice, which comes straight at the guy. And when he tries to avoid it, he loses his grip and starts sliding past rocks and snow. Then he keeps falling for another 30 seconds.

Doctors say his helmet saved his life. And the worst of his injuries was a broken ankle.

All the reports say he fell 100 feet, but that must mean 100 VERTICAL feet. Because from watching the video, it looks like he slides a lot farther.

The ice falls at :29, he hits a bunch of rocks at :52, and he comes to a stop at 1:02.
