Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood gave Lonestar 99.5 three meet and greets for our listeners to win. What the country superstar couple gave at the backstage experience, however, was above and beyond.

Saturday afternoon while Garth Brooks' matinee performance at the United Supermarkets Arena was winding down, I met two of our meet and greet winners with their plus ones (our Most Country Couple contest winners attended Friday night's meet and greet). We gathered at will call with great anticipation. We were given our backstage passes to wear and soon followed a winding path up the stairs and down the hallways that brought us up next to the stage.

We were behind the curtain, but could hear the country legend, whose amazing voice rang true. He was still in the matinee show's encore performance, and the emotional tone brought tears to our eyes. This was truly an incredible experience.

As we waited for further instructions, we had the wonderful opportunity to meet Mitch Rossell, who wrote the new single from Garth Brooks' Gunslinger album, "Ask Me How I Know." Rossell was very gracious and even took some pictures with our winners.

Soon after, we were brought to a comfortable sitting room. When the door opened, after much anticipation, Trisha Yearwood walked in first. Right behind her, with a half of a peanut butter sandwich in one hand and a bag of chips in the other, was the one and only Garth Brooks.

Just so they could spend more time with our winners, he was eating on the go! The country music icon apologized for eating as he greeted us (no one minded, of course!), and then everyone sat down to talk.

There were two emotional stories shared by the Prizefighter contest winners and the What Garth Got Me Through contest winners. As if they had all night to talk, the superstar couple listened, asked questions and shared so much. It was absolutely powerful to witness.

It was profound to see this great couple so dedicated to the moment -- sharing and caring and making this meet and greet one no one there will ever forget. It was a life changer! Moments like these are what sets these country legends apart.
