Landon’s Tribute To Local Hero, Carlton Peters

I was on the air on Tuesday morning and my local news reporter had mentioned Carlton in my top-of-the-hour news. I hadn't really planned on mentioning anything about it on-air, but after it was broadcast on my own show, I decided to make a comment.

I wasn't as close with Carlton as many of you were, but it really hit me hard when I found out that he passed. I can't imagine what so many of my best friends (who WERE very close to him) must be feeling. I can't even comprehend the grief Amber and the rest of the Peters family must be going through. I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers for years to come.

What you hear below is what came out spur of the moment on Tuesday morning, June 21st. I hope his closest friends and family will get some comfort from the song I selected. I hope it's fitting.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Carlton Peters from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at Victory Life Baptist Church. Carlton died June 19, 2011.
