Clown have always been a Halloween favorite. Whether you're terrified of them or you love them, the spike in creepy clowns luring children into the woods, walking around with weapons or just freaking people out have been all over social media recently.

Now, Texas joins other states in this fad of "creepy clown outbreaks."

Recently, the Fort Worth area has been experiencing clown sightings near a school, which led to a lockdown for the safety of the students.

Police received a call about a clown running down a street yelling which caused concern for the residents. Sightings happen at night. So far, no clowns have actually been arrested, but with the hysteria building across the nation it's not hard to see why the fear stands.

The Austin area has also experienced their own slew of creepy clowns. KXAN in Austin reported that several schools have been the subject of clown threats recently.

Almost 30 states are reporting this crisis of creepy clowns. Although no one has been seriously harmed, police are taking action and arresting these clowns when they can.
