Downtown Lubbock Now Has Bike Lanes So Don’t Drive In Them [VIDEO]

Lubbock has bike lanes in our downtown streets. I didn't know that. Apparently most people didn't either. And you're not supposed to drive in them because they're bike lanes, not traffic lanes.

That's what this video is about and to be honest I don't know if I would have noticed that some streets like Broadway are now one lane each way, and an outside bike lane. I'm not the only one who didn't know this, either. This video shows a van driving right down one of the bike lanes.

So while I applaud the city for finally recognizing bike riders, I have to say they did a really crappy job informing people that those lanes exist, and you can't drive through them. So stay alert bikers, you're safety isn't guaranteed yet.
