If you're a fan of J.K. Rowling's hit 'Harry Potter' series, you must have longed for your own invisibility cloak so that you could go off on your own magical adventures just like Harry himself. But invisibility cloaks are merely fictional, right? Wrong!

A team of researchers at Duke University have created the first invisibility cloak that hides centimeter scale objects without any issue whatsoever. Previously, other attempts at cloaks had issues like ruining the illusion of invisibility because they still reflected the incident light around them. However, the cloak that Nathan Landy and the rest of the team at Duke University have created channels this light without ever breaking the illusion of total invisibility, which is a huge success for researchers.

But before you start dreaming of 'Harry Potter'-style adventures with your brand new invisibility cloak, keep in mind that for now, the cloak can only hide cylinder-shaped objects from microwave radiation and it is only uni-directional. However, it's only a matter of time before this technology is perfected and visible light, omni-directional invisibility cloaks are sold at a store near you!
