The ribbon cutting was last week, and you're going to need to know where to look to find it.

Farmers Pantry is tucked away, but right next to Plato's Closet. It's a great little market with lots of square footage to fill and a solid plan for the future.

Store manager Lucinda Mann said they have plans to hold classes that will teach different farming methods like aquaponics, and hydroponics, beekeeping, cooking, land management, water conservation, capturing rain water and more.

Farmers Pantry President Wolf Kuhlemeier said they have 45 members of which 27 are growers and farming producers.

"We range everything from as close to organic as we can possibly get to traditional and conventional growers," he said. "We have green-fed, grass-fed meats. We have pork, dairy...eggs and cheese. We have canned goods from local farmers...they take their produce and put them in canned goods...homemade jellies, pickles, fresh pecans, beans, greens of all kinds."

He said they have 7,000 square feet, but are hoping to expand to 17,000 by the end of next spring.

The Farmers Pantry is at 4843 50th Street Lubbock.
