Ready for a little road trip? Four national parks in Texas, as well as dozens more throughout the U.S., are waiving admission fees on certain days in April to celebrate National Park Week.

All of these would make great destinations. The weather is warming up but not too hot to really get out and enjoy a road trip, a breath of fresh air, a brand new place and some gorgeous scenery.

Try some camping, some hiking, some fishing, but take advantage of this opportunity to take in some new scenery and clear out the cobwebs of winter. It's time to de-stress with spring. What better way than a nice, big, beautiful state park for free, just in time for Easter weekend.

The following four Texas national parks will swing open their gates at no charge on April 15 and 16, and again on April 22 and 23. (The other 12 national parks in Texas are already free to enter.)

If you're planning a trip to other close-to-West-Texas national parks such as Carlsbad Caverns or White Sands, know that those parks will also waive admission fees.

Click on the name of each park below to visit its official website for more information. And, as with anything free, it's always a good idea to call ahead to double check.
