This might be a hot button issue so I'm going to tread lightly here. I came across a video promoting a potty training tool for kids today. I'm a little shocked by it.

This isn't the first time I've seen something like this. Many times its parents themselves posting pictures of their own kids. I'm a parent. I have 5 kids. I've posted hundreds of pictures of them too. But there are times in their lives, and parts of their day, that I don't think its ok to put on the internet. Video of a child going to the bathroom is one of those times! Other times include when they're naked. Ever.

I'm not trying to be a weirdo here, or say that I'm offended by these pictures or videos. I'm not. But the internet is a public place! and no matter how hard you try, people you might not have wanted to see something, will end up seeing it. Pedophiles to name one. And yet I still see videos like this one, advertising a potty training aid, being posted in public. A video of this aid by itself would more than suffice to promote its usefulness. But this video actually shows a young boy, naked with just a shirt on, sitting on the potty.

So you tell me, am I over-reacting? Or is this too far for kids? Or are parents blinded by the thought that they think its cute when its their kid, but they have no idea who might be seeing this? Am I just being overly concerned for someone else's kid that's none of my business?
