With their big win over the Houston Cougars 63 to 49, the Red Raiders improved to 2-1 on the season. They beat Houston off the arm of Alan Bowman who was announced as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week as well as the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week. However, Bowman wasn't the only one to be honored after the big win.

Wesley finished with a new Texas Tech single game receiving record of 261 yards as well as 3 touchdowns to go along with the fantastic day he had against Houston. Texas Tech even had a lot of success in the running attack as was evident by another player who earned an honorable mention accolade on Tuesday.

Henry finished with 111 yards rushing on 24 carries and added 4 touchdowns including this fantastic extra effort, leap and stretch for the goal line.

Doing a little more digging and while this doesn't have to do with a Texas Tech player per se, he did go to high school at Lubbock Cooper and his brother was a very good quarterback for the Red Raiders in 2011 and 2012.

Jarret Doege finished 28 of 39 through the air for 258 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception in Bowling Green's first win of the season against Eastern Kentucky 42 to 35. Doege and the Falcons take on Miami OH next week as they try to notch another victory.

As for the Texas Tech Red Raiders (2-1) they take on the #15 Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-0) in Stillwater at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, to open Big 12 play. The 1340 The Fan Countdown to Kickoff show starts that day at 3 p.m. Listen with the free 1340 The Fan app, online at our website or on the air at 1340 AM.
