'Dark Shadows', the latest collaboration between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, hits theaters on May 11th. And it looks pretty good UNLESS you're a fan of the original gothic soap opera it's based on.

Yes, 'Dark Shadows' was a real daytime soap. It aired from 1966 to 1971 and featured an old dark manor, ghosts, witches, the odd werewolf here and there and a vampire named Barnabas Collins...which is who Johnny is playing.

But the show wasn't played for laughs, like this movie obviously is.
