Salads are super healthy, but can get pretty boring, pretty fast. So how do you avoid getting into a salad rut? I talked with Robin Hawkins with the United Supermarket family, who shared some tips for eating healthy without sacrificing taste.

Robin shared several helpful tips to take your salad from drab to fabulous and get you excited about eating the stuff that's great for you.

First off, pick green lettuces, baby kale, arugula, etc. The greener the better, she says. Those types of greens have way more nutrition.

Second, jazz up your lettuce with seeds, nuts, dried berried, fresh fruit and cheese. These ingredients also come in handy combo packs in the produce section of all United, Market Street, Amigos and Albertson's stores.

And finally, use a good dressing, but sparingly. United stores just started carrying a brand of natural dressing called Open Nature. The kind that Robin brought in to try, Raspberry Walnut, is delicious.

If you like a creamy dressing, Robin suggests that instead of drowning your salad in it, put it in a little bowl or dish and dip your salad bites into it.

Here's to a vibrant, healthy and fab salad summer!
