The "Ice Bucket Challenge" thing has been going around for a couple months now.  But it's really picked up steam over the past week or two.

If you haven't heard about it, it's pretty simple. You record yourself dumping a bucket of ice water on your head, then dare your friends online to do it. And if they DON'T, they're supposed to donate money to fight Lou Gehrig's disease.

The Kennedy family even challenged President Obama to do it. But apparently someone decided there shouldn't be footage of a sitting president dumping a bucket of ICE on his own head. So Tuesday, the White House said he'll be donating.

And check out what an impact a stupid idea like this can have. Since July 29th, the ALS Association says 71,000 people have donated a total of $4 MILLION, which is HUGE compared to what they'd normally get.

During the same time period last year, they got $1.1 million in donations. Meaning that in just two weeks, the "Ice Bucket Challenge" brought in an extra $3 MILLION to help fight Lou Gehrig's disease. If you want to donate, just go to ALSA.org.
