In May, Lubbock's West End Shopping Center announced In-N-Out Burger would open its first-ever Hub City location. Then, silence. Is the popular burger chain still on target?

Carl Van Fleet, vice president of planning and development at In-N-Out Burger, confirmed to KFYO News that the California-based company does indeed own land in Lubbock.

However, those looking to feast on an In-N-Out burger in Lubbock and order some animal-style fries may have a bit of a wait ahead.

"We are definitely interested in Lubbock as part of our future growth plans, but we are still in the early stages of the planning process, so it is much too early to try to project any type of timing," Van Fleet told KFYO News via email.

Neither West End Shopping Center nor In-N-Out Burger have revealed an official timeline or opening date for the Lubbock restaurant. As of press time, a Lubbock location was not found on the In-N-Out Burger website.

When opened, the Lubbock location will become the only In-N-Out Burger in all of West Texas.
