Is the ‘Back to the Future’ Hoverboard a Reality? Sort Of, But Not Really [VIDEO]
A company has SORT OF invented a hoverboard like the one Michael J. Fox rides in "Back to the Future 2"...and they're using Kickstarter to raise $250,000 to develop the technology even further.
At the moment, the thing actually works, but there are drawbacks. First of all, it only works on a metallic surface...so you can't just randomly ride it around town, over water or anything cool like that.
Also, it only hovers three-quarters of an inch off the ground, the battery only lasts A FEW MINUTES, and it makes an incredibly loud, high-pitched noise.
Still, it hovers...and you can actually ride it. It's called the Hendo Hoverboard.
