This makes the second Texas Tech assistant to leave the program in favor of Bill Napier and his Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. Cornerbacks coach Karl Scott also joined the Louisiana staff as the Defensive Coordinator.

Jabbar Juluke will assume the same position in Louisiana as he held at Texas Tech, the running backs coach and assistant head coach. The running game under Juluke improved by more than 600 yards total and more than half a yard per carry. He was in his first season at Texas Tech after being at LSU and Louisiana Tech.

Juluke was also a powerhouse high school coach in Louisiana before getting into the collegiate level. He was a pivotal recruiter this season and will excel in that role back in his home state of Louisiana.

Juluke's departure now means there are five open spots in the Texas Tech football coaching staff.
