So everyone is unhappy with their LP&L bill for whatever reason, myself included. But it looks like the next fiscal year will bring what LP&L claims is one final rate increase.

For the fiscal year 2017-2018, expect a 5 percent increase in rates. This is better than the 5.75 percent that was originally promised more than three years ago. Of course, LP&L has discussed doing away with separate summer and non-summer rates and going to a single rate for year round.

Does that mean our bills will go up, down or stay stable? Who knows?

But either way, the odds are very good we will be paying more regardless of what they say they are going to do. So much for buying name brand toaster pastries when I go shopping.
