Larry's Giant Subs just opened a Lubbock location at south loop 289 & Quaker. I had never heard of Larry's until they started advertising on my show. Apparently, if you're from the southeast, you know them well. This is their very first store in our neck of the woods.

When I walked in, I was expecting to meet some big, hairy dude named Larry. Instead I was greeted by a lovely young lady named Scarlette. She's the owner and she looks nothing like a 'Larry'.

Anyway, Scarlette explained that she went to school in Florida and that was where the store originated.

This video tells you everything you need to know about their subs:

They have a HUGE menu, so it was hard for me to decide what to get until the guy in front of me ordered a 'Destroyer'. With a name like that, I couldn't lose.

Here's what's on it: Premium ham, cooked & genoa salami, capicola, pepperoni & beef bologna.

Yes, all of that meat was on one giant sandwich. I felt like I was on an episode of 'Man vs. Food'. It comes with lettuce, tomato and onion (if you choose). I nixed the onion.

I LOVED it and I think you will too. Here's their menu. They're on Facebook too.

Next time, I'm going to go for the Meatball...or maybe the Animal...or the Turkey Ruben!
