So here is something I didn't know about that is cool for all active military and their dependents.

The City of Lubbock Museums, Silent Wings Museum and the Buddy Holly center is participating in the 9th annual Blue Star Museums. This is a project by the National Endowment for the Arts(NEA), Blue Star Families and the Department of Defense.

From now until Labor Day, active duty military and their family can visit one of over 2,000 museums for free.

From The NEA:

"Visiting a museum is a great way to get to know a community-whether it's in your hometown or a stop on a road trip," said NEA Chairman Jane Chu. "We appreciate the enthusiasm of museums all across the country who open their doors for military and their families to spend time together and have new arts experiences."
