By a 4-3 vote, the Lubbock City Council terminated the employment of City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld, effective immediately. The motion to fire Dumbauld was made by District 6 Councilwoman Latrelle Joy. The three council members voting against the termination were Mayor Glen Robertson, District 2 Councilman Floyd Price and District 5 Councilwoman Karen Gibson.

According to the city staff, terms of a severance agreement have not been finalized.

The city council also dismissed the complaints made by Dumbauld against District 1 Councilman Victor Hernandez.

Both actions were taken in a special city council meeting that started at 4:30p, Monday afternoon. The council emerged from executive session just before 8:30p, to take the termination vote.

Dumbauld was originally hired by the City of Lubbock as chief financial officer & assistant city manager July 19, 2004, under then-City Manager Lou Fox. She was then elevated to Lubbock City Manager on September 8, 2005 after the resignation of Fox.

KFYO News has learned that Quincy White, or James Loomis, may be elevated to the position of interim City Manager.
