[UPDATE 1/18/16 2:52 p.m.] According to Lubbock Police Department PIO Lt. Ray Mendoza, Quaylon Jamar Williams turned himself in peacefully at approximately 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.

[Original story] On Monday, Jan. 18, Lubbock police identified the suspect involved in Sunday's fatal shooting as 18-year-old Quaylon Jamar Williams.

The shooting occurred in the 1900 block of 66th Street around 1:30 in the afternoon on Sunday, January 17,  claiming the life of Devin Deshon Holland (18).

The death of Holland is being treated as a homicide according to Lubbock Police Lieutenant and spokesman Ray Mendoza. Authorities say the male victim was shot in the neck and chest in his apartment.

EMS crews responded to the scene but the victim was pronounced dead upon their arrival. While on the scene, officers noticed a black Lincoln Navigator with blood smeared on the passenger side heading back to the scene at a high rate of speed.

Police stopped the vehicle near 66th and University where it was confirmed the vehicle was involved in the homicide. According to Mendoza, the driver and a passenger are cooperating with authorities.

Williams, who is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, is described as a black male standing 6’1" and weighing 155 lbs.
