A die-hard "The Walking Dead" fan tried to walk through an airport security checkpoint with a replica of villain Negan's infamous bat. Needless to say, it didn't work out.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) tweeted out the picture above after someone attempted to bring the baseball bat onto a flight at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The replica of Lucille was reportedly wrapped in rubber barbed wire and covered with fake blood, but otherwise a real baseball bat.

Any "TWD" fan worth their salt will instantly realize one big difference between this Lucille lookalike and the real McCoy: it's a metal bat. Negan's bat is wooden. But this hardcore fan definitely gets an A for effort.

The TSA provided more info on the bat via their Instagram account:

This replica of @AMCTheWalkingDead’s “Lucille” was discovered recently in a carry-on bag at Atlanta (ATL). The barbed wire is actually made from rubber and the blood is fake (we hope). However, baseball bats are prohibited from carry-on bags and must be packed in checked luggage. #TWD #Negan We’re just glad Lucille wasn’t thirsty.
