The Masked Rider's run across Jones AT&T Stadium to lead the Red Raiders onto the field is the greatest entrance in college football. For Halloween, Texas Tech should make it college football's scariest entrance.

The school's Halloween-time game against Oklahoma on Nov. 3rd is already shaping up to be one of the greatest experiences for Texas Tech fans in recent memory. Not only is it a night game and a blackout, but fans are also being encouraged to wear costumes to The Jones. But there's a simple way to take the already-amazing fan experience to the next level.

Turn the Masked Rider into the Headless Horseman of folklore and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" fame. In keeping with that theme, OU mascots Boomer and Sooner, as well as the Sooner Schooner, could easily take the place of Ichabod Crane, being chased for their lives.

Doing this wouldn't be too difficult. It just requires a bit of creative costuming by the talented folks in the Athletics Department. However, having the Masked Rider carry a pumpkin during the run, as epic as that might be, would probably be a bit tougher.

Normally, the rider's free hand is held in the 'guns up' position as they streak across the field. Putting something in their hand would alter that beloved tradition. And while I've never ridden on a horse in full stride while holding a pumpkin in one hand, I'd hazard a guess that it would be pretty easy to accidentally drop it during the run. And no one wants to clean squashed pumpkin off turf.

What do you think? Would you like to see this idea become a new tradition for Texas Tech? Take our poll below and let us know.
