Chad Hasty is the host of the midday show on News/Talk 790, KFYO.  Thursday morning, it was announced that he has been appointed to the State of Texas Elections Advisory Committee.  Lt. Governor Dan Patrick appointed six media members from across the state to the committee, and Hasty is the only West Texas member of the committee. The committee also includes six appointees by the Speaker of the House (Rep. Joe Strauss) and six appointees by the Texas Secretary of State (Carlos H. Cascos).

Hasty has served as KFYO's midday host since October 2012 and has been a show host on KFYO since 2005. Hasty can be heard weekdays from 8:30-11 a.m. and Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. on News/Talk 790, KFYO and streaming online at KFYO.com.

News/Talk 790, KFYO Host Appointed to Texas Elections Advisory Committee

(Lubbock, TX)--- Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick appointed six members of the Texas media to the Elections Advisory Committee. News/Talk 790, KFYO’s Chad Hasty was among those appointed to the two-year term which expires on December 31, 2017. The purpose of Elections Advisory Committee is to evaluate the reporting and tabulation of unofficial election returns in both primary and general elections. The committee then makes recommendations to the office of the Texas Secretary of State.

Other members of the Texas media who were appointed by Lieutenant Governor Patrick include Mark Davis of The Mark Davis Show on KSKY-AM, Ross Ramsey of the Texas Tribune, Pedro Rojas of Univision, Mike Ward of The Houston Chronicle, and Jason Whitely of WFAA-TV.

Patrick said of today’s appointments, “It’s crucial to maintain transparency in all levels of government,” said Patrick. “The experience and perspective each member brings to the table will be invaluable to the election process in Texas. The Elections Advisory Committee helps preserve the integrity of our civic duty, privilege and responsibility – the right to vote.”
