Poisoned Dog Comes Back From the Dead on His Birthday
After being poisoned and buried in a shallow grave, a Jack Russell terrier was recently brought back from the dead with a little help from a Good Samaritan and a local veterinarian.
According to reports, a pedestrian from the town of Charlesville-Mezieres in northeast France discovered the dog left for dead because its convulsions were causing the soil to move. After retrieving a shovel, the man dug up the animal and had it rushed it to a local veterinarian for medical attention.
But when the dog arrived at the animal hospital, its chances for survival still weren't very good. Its body was completely cold and flat, and its breathing was extremely shallow, according to veterinarian Philippe Michon. Yet, nearly 24 hours after Michon was able to locate a vein strong enough for him to rehydrate the pooch, the dog had made a full recovery.
"It's extraordinary. We only see this in TV movies," said Michon. "He came back to life and without a scratch. It's rather miraculous."
Interestingly, the dog’s microchip indicated that these bizarre events had occurred on his third birthday.
The dog’s previous owner says he had nothing to do with trying to kill the animal because he gave the dog away. Local authorities are still working to corroborate his story.
