Online registration is now open for this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Lubbock. This year's event will be held Saturday, October 3 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

A Survivors’ Café will get the morning started before the 5K and 1K walk/run races start.

Teams and individuals can register online at www.komenlubbock.org. Registration can also be done in person or by mail using the registration form found online, or at the Komen Lubbock offices, at 1655 Main Street #203. The first 4,500 registrants to register are guaranteed an official Race for the Cure t-shirt.

REGISTRATION FEES: The registration fee for survivors/fighters is $20 and includes an official Race t-shirt, a pink Race t-shirt and cap exclusively for survivors, a Race bib, and entrance into the Expo. The fee for adults is $30 and for Komen Kids (12 and under) is $20. Both include an official Race t-shirt, a Race bib, and entrance into the Expo. Those unable to attend the Race in person can sign up for Sleep In for the Cure® and will receive an official Race t-shirt, a special Sleep In Race bib, and a pink pillowcase for $40. Race Day registration is $40.

7:30 – 9:30 a.m. Race Day Registration (North Pedestrian Mall)
7:45 – 8:40 a.m. Survivors’ Café (Exhibit Hall – south end)
8:40 a.m. Survivors’ Group Photo
8:50 a.m. Survivors’ Parade to Starting Line (Ave. O & Sky Bridge)
9:00 a.m. Opening Ceremonies (Ave. O & Sky Bridge)
9:20 a.m. Warm-Up by Cardinal’s Sport Center (Ave. O & Sky Bridge)
9:30 a.m. 5K Walk/Run
9:45 a.m. 1K Walk
10 a.m. – Noon Expo (Exhibit Hall – north end)

SURVIVOR AND CO-SURVIVOR ACTIVITIES: The Survivors’ Café features healthy food, a chance to connect with others, and a short program. Survivors may bring two guests to the Café. Survivors and fighters will take a group photo then parade to the Start Line and rejoin their co-survivors, family, and friends. The Opening Ceremonies will include a balloon release.

PARKING AND ROAD CLOSURES: Parking fills up very quickly. Survivor parking will be in the Civic Center north lot, with overflow in the northeast lot. Other participant parking will be in the lower north and south bowls. Additional parking is available at Walmart (7th St. and Ave. R) and Prosperity Bank (13th and Ave. Q). A shuttle service will run from Prosperity Bank to the Civic Center from 7 – 11:30 a.m.

The intersection and surrounding areas of Avenue O and Mac Davis Lane will be closed from 8 a.m. until the Race begins. Streets surrounding the Civic Center and along the Race Course will be closed during the Race.

SAFETY: For the safety of all participants, the following items are prohibited on the Race Course and in the Expo Hall: pets, inline skates, skateboards, and Razor-type scooters. We ask that participants with strollers line up behind runners to avoid side-stepping, tripping, and traffic jams.
