The Salvation Army of Lubbock has joined forces with other area Salvation Army’s to provide aid to the many firemen, policemen, and other responders of the wildfires spreading rapidly across West Texas. The Salvation Army will continue its efforts to aid responders into next week as needed.

The Salvation Army was on scene in Guthrie Saturday and served breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to those battling the wildfire there. On Friday, April 8, The Salvation Army of Lubbock sent volunteers and staff to Guthrie to serve snacks and meals to responders there. On Saturday, April 9, this crew served 130 lunches and 135 dinners totaling 265 meals provided to responders.

Also on Saturday, April 9, Salvation Army volunteers and staff responded to the wildfire south of Post and served 50 meals to responders.

Individuals can aid The Salvation Army’s effort by volunteering with the Disaster Alert Response Team (DART) by calling 806-765-9434. This team of volunteers goes out to the scene of disasters with Salvation Army staff to assist victims and responders.
