Slide the City Cancels 2016 Lubbock Event, Refunds En Route

Sadly, there will be no sliding this city. This year, anyways.

We received confirmation today that the event was canceled and that folks who purchased tickets were sent an email informing them that as of yesterday (July 7, 2016) that their money had be refunded to their bank accounts.

Slide the City said that it will take up to seven business days, but if you purchased tickets and do not receive a refund in that time you can contact them online.

Why did the event cancel? I don't know. But my guess would be a lack of advance ticket sales. Lubbock is the WORST at planning ahead; we seem to all show up the day of hoping for the best and then the event is sold out or canceled. I'm guilty of it too on occasion, but I'm trying to be better. If you really want something to do here in the Hub City, be sure to show your support early.
