Steve Massengale has won the race for Lubbock City Council's 4th district against incumbent Jim Gerlt.

KFYO News called the race for Massengale after he earned 63.6 percent of the early vote Saturday night. Incumbent Jim Gerlt earned 36.4 percent of the early vote.

Meanwhile, the race for Lubbock Council, District 2 is expected to go to a runoff. After early voting, Shelia Patterson Harris earned 44.13 percent of the vote and Jared B. Hall earned 29.03 percent.
