Texas Tech has added the final game to its 2016 schedule as Texas Tech will face Oral Roberts in Frisco, Texas.

The Golden Eagles and the Red Raiders will square off March 8 at 2 p.m. at Dr Pepper Ballpark, the home of the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders.

The Oral Roberts game allows Texas Tech to get to the 56 allowed regular season games. It will also be the fourth professional stadium to host the Red Raiders during the regular season, joining Minute Maid Park (Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic – Houston Astros), Globe Life Park (Texas Rangers) and Security Bank Ballpark (Double-A Midland RockHounds).

If Texas Tech reaches the Big 12 Championship, they will add a fifth professional stadium in the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, home of the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Texas Tech and Oral Roberts will also meet May 10 in their final non-conference game of the regular season. The two schools have a budding rivalry having played seven times since the start of the 2014 season. The Red Raiders have the edge in the series at 5-2.

The season opens on Friday, February 19 against Wisconsin-Milwaukee. First pitch on Opening Day is slated for 2 p.m. inside Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
