According to Texas Tech, Tim Tadlock and the Red Raider baseball team will head to Houston and for the 2017 Shriners Hospitals for the Children College Classic.

Texas Tech  will open the weekend with a 3:30 p.m. first pitch on March 3 against Texas A&M.

To celebrate the announcement, Tadlock will throw out the first pitch Saturday at Minute Maid Park, home of the 2017 Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic. The Astros will be squaring off against the LA Angels in the contest.

The reigning Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year is at the Astros game for a Texas Tech Alumni Association event hosted at the Astros ballpark.

After a strong close to the 2015-16 season, the Red Raiders will be looking to have another strong showing in Houston in 2017. Hopefully, this gets the conversations warmed up for the Aggies and Red Raiders to schedule more games on baseball and other sports.

The Big 12 SEC basketball challenge would be an easy add, and maybe by 2020 the Aggies might be on the schedule to return to the Jones.
