Fresh off the new of a new album that will be released on June 5, it was a reunion that was a long time in the making  at the Beach Boys 50th Anniversary tour kick-off in Tuscon last night.

Though the members of the band had been involved in numerous disputes over the past two decades, bygones were bygones last night as Brian Wilson joined fellow Beach Boys Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks.  Last night marked the first time that Brian Wilson has shared the stage with the remainder of the Beach Boys since 1996.

Though the band delivered expected hits such as ‘Little Deuce Coupe’, ‘Surfin’ Safari’ and ‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice,’ the group also delved into their extensive catalog, pulling out lesser known tracks such as ‘Sail On Sailor’, ‘All This Is That’ and ‘Forever’.

A complete review of the show can be read at Rolling Stone‘s website. The Beach Boys show in Tuscon marks the beginning of 47 shows the band will be performing between now and mid-July in the United States. Once their American run of shows wrap up, the band will tour through Europe and Japan.
