Count this as another PR disaster for United Airlines.

The Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday (March 13) that a passenger flying from Houston to New York was ordered to place their 10-month-old puppy, and the puppy carrier, into an overhead compartment.

Since the flight was roughly three hours long, that means the dog did not have access to water or air for three hours. The puppy died, and now United Airlines is launching an investigation into the whole matter.

According to the Houston Chronicle, United has taken full responsibility for what happened:

"This was a tragic accident that should never have occurred, as pets should never be placed in the overhead bin," United stated. "We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them. We are thoroughly investigating what occurred to prevent this from ever happening again."

You would think that placing a dog into an overhead compartment would be known by everyone to be a bad idea, but apparently that wasn't the case. I share my fully thoughts in the video above.

In April 2017, United Airlines came under fire after a passenger was bloodied up and forcibly removed from one of their flights.

The flight was overbooked, and when no one volunteered to give up their seat, a man was chosen at random. He refused to give up the seat, and the airline responded by calling law enforcement. One officer is seen in the shocking video dragging the passenger out of the plane as blood drips from his mouth.
