USA Today Sports has listed Kliff Kingsbury as having the 10th hottest seat in college football.

Kingsbury joins fellow Big 12 coach David Beaty of Kansas, who has the hottest seat, as well as Missouri coach Barry Odom as the only Power 5 coaches who make the list.

Kingsbury started 7-0 at Texas Tech. Since then, he's 23-33 overall, with a 16-29 Big 12 record. The reasoning for calling out Kingsbury in the article alludes to that record as the main reason for the hot seat.

In fact, the only reason Kingsbury's job is 10th on the list and not higher is because of the low expectations the writer sees for Kingsbury to keep his job, saying: "The Red Raiders got back into the postseason last fall, albeit as the eighth-place finisher in the Big 12 and on the back of wins against lowly Baylor and Kansas." The article continues: "The university wants this tenure to work out, however, so another bowl trip should ensure that Kingsbury doesn’t go anywhere."

So basically, it's bowl-or-bust for Kliff Kingsbury, according to the rankings.

Is that really all that's expected here at Texas Tech? Is six wins all Kliff Kingsbury needs for another ride in 2019?
