We love and appreciate our veterans and active military, and so do local and national merchants. To show their appreciation, many are offering freebies to veterans and active military.

The below freebies and discounts are for active military and veterans with valid proof of service. As a precaution, it doesn't hurt to call the locations ahead of time to verify they're participating.

BJ's Restaurant & Brew House offering a free entree up to $12.95 value.
Chili's is offering a free meal.
Cotton Patch Cafe is offering a free meal.
Denny's from 5 to 11 a.m. -- free Build Your Own Slam.
Fox & Hound free meal up to $10 value.
Golden Corral is offering a free meal between 5 and 9 p.m.
Hooters is offering a free meal from a select menu with drink purchase.
IHOP is serving free Red, White & Blue Pancakes or Red, White & Blue combo plate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Longhorn Steakhouse is offering a free Texas Tonion and non-alcoholic beverage.
Menchie's Frozen Yogurt will offer a free 6 oz. frozen yogurt.
Olive Garden is offering a free entree and guests with veterans recevie 10% off of their bill.
