Whether you're a Star Wars fan or not, we all have to recognize that it does something magical, bringing together a fanbase that is incredibly diverse. Star Wars is an ongoing story that appeals to a majority of folks no matter their cultural, socio-economic, ability or age difference.

It also has always inspired a torrent of wildly creative fan art. It's arguably the most accepting franchise of homage from fans.

Last night, Lubbock's Alamo Drafthouse hosted Lubbock-Con's pop-up shop of fan art that had some absolutely incredible pieces.

One of the artists that participated is 6-year-old Tristan, who happens to have a sensory processing disorder that can make social situations completely overwhelming. Despite his difference in sensory processing, his mother DeNae encourages him to participate in events that she thinks he can handle with her support.

Last night, Tristan not only had a great time at the art exhibit, but he sold one of his pieces!

To the guy that bought Tristan's art: Maybe buying a child's art didn't seem like a huge act of love and support, but it is to that child. Thank you.

But it doesn't stop there. After learning about Lubbock's chapter of the 501 Legion, I knew Lubbock had a huge group of Star Wars fans going the extra mile for their community. Our chapter is constantly attending community events, visiting hospitals and raising money for the betterment of our area.

Don't worry if you missed the exhibit last night - it's on tonight and tomorrow, too!

Above are some photos from last night's exhibit and of Tristan!
