ZZ Top has officially canceled their Lubbock tour date and will not reschedule it. An announcement has been released by the promoter and band management.

All we can say is that we're sorry for those fans who don't get to rock out to these Texas Treasures. We were very happy to have been honored with promoting this show and working with the band and management. Past that point, we'll just let everything else speak for itself.

For those who aren't in the know, ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill fell down backstage the night the band was set to play the Lonestar Amphitheater. It was later revealed Hill had dislocated his shoulder.

Days after Hill's injury, the band announced they were postponing 10 additional tour dates.

We received the press release below with instructions to hold it long enough to allow the ticket vendors to prepare for refunds. It's easy for some people to try to read between the lines on this type of thing, so here is the announcement copied directly from the source.

-ZZ TOP CANCELLED DUE TO INJURY – NO RESCHEDULED DATE FOR LUBBOCK –

-REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED-

On April 14, 2016 Dusty Hill suffered an injury while walking to the stage in Lubbock, TX. Due to this injury, many of the bands tour dates have had to be postponed. Unfortunately, the date in Lubbock will not be rescheduled and refunds will be given to all ticket holders. The band regrets that this has happened and are determined to make it back to Hub City in the future.

Thank you so very much for your continued support and patience.

The message we received also had the following information, though was not part of the actual press release:

All tickets purchased at the Lonestar Amphitheater box office on the day of the show will be refundable at Ralph’s (No earlier than Friday 10 a.m.). All tickets purchased via Ticketfly or dinproductions.com will have the refunds sent directly back to the method of payment used and will show on the account within 3 – 5 business days.

Again, we're sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Hopefully, ZZ Top will return to Lubbock sooner than later.
