Captured in one astounding photo, these two funnel clouds move across the West Texas sky yesterday.

KAMC meteorologist Ron Roberts said in a tweet about the photo: "I cannot remember the last Severe Weather Season as active as this year."

We appreciate Ron Roberts always keeping an eye on the sky for us. It's pretty unusual to see two funnel clouds side by side, and certainly unbelievable to capture that picture.

According to AccuWeather Road Trip Safety tips on funnel cloud safety, here's what you need to know about the weather phenomenon:

If a funnel cloud reaches all the way to the ground then it is classified as a tornado.

When out on the road, a funnel cloud should be treated as a tornado, since they could touch down.

So keep an eye on the sky and an ear on your radio this spring and summer, and stay safe!
