2011 Daytime Emmys: ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Wins Best Drama Series
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ was once again named Best Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy Awards, marking the third-consecutive win for the popular CBS soap.
The show also won awards in the categories of Best Supporting Actress (Heather Tom), Best Younger Actor (Scott Clifton) and Best Drama Series Direction, for which it tied with ‘The Young and the Restless.’
Weekend Box Office: ‘Green Lantern’ Dims in Theaters
As expected, ‘Green Lantern’ was the number one movie at the box office this weekend, taking in a slightly underwhelming $52.7 million, according to weekend estimates.
That number marks the lowest opening for a superhero movie this summer, behind ‘Thor’ ($66 million) ‘X-Men: First Class’ ($56 million).

In what came down to a battle between two best friends, Alyssa Campanella of Los Angeles, California was crowned Miss USA 2011 Sunday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
The 21-year-old beauty beat out Miss Tennessee Ashley Durham to take the title, the 60th in the pageant’s long-running history.

If you thought the Duggar family couldn’t get any bigger, think again: According to PEOPLE, Josh and Anna Duggar welcomed their second child Wednesday – a baby boy, weighing 8 lbs., 5 oz.
The couple, aged 23 and 22, respectively, did not release the name of their son, though they did say that it stars with the letter M.
Anthony Weiner to Step Down From Office: Report
Rep. Anthony Weiner has reportedly told friends that he will resign from office, a source close to the situation revealed to the NY Times.
The decision was reportedly made after “long discussions” with his wife, Huma Abedin, who returned to the States Tuesday after a trip to Africa with her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
