City of Lubbock To Offer Second Dose COVID Vaccine Clinic

As more and more citizens in Lubbock are getting vaccinated against COVID-19, the City of Lubbock has pulled back on hosting vaccination clinics everyday and instead has gone to targeted approaches, like getting out into the community to offer vaccines.

But the City of Lubbock also realizes that while many have had their first shot, many more haven't had their 2nd dose or they have forgotten that they needed a second dose. It's actually something health care experts are seeing nationwide. With a two-dose vaccine, people have to remember to go back two weeks later for their second shot.

On Tuesday, the City of Lubbock Health Department announced that they would host a "Second Dose Vaccination Clinic" on Thursday at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

The City of Lubbock Public Health Department is offering a 2nd dose COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday, May 13, from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

 

Anyone who received the first Moderna vaccine on or before April 17, and still needs the second shot is encouraged to come to this clinic.

 

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine will also be available to anyone over the age of 18 who has not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine.

 

No appointment is needed, and drive-thru is available until 7:00 p.m.

Remember, getting the vaccine is free and the City of Lubbock Health Department has already given out over 100,000 doses of the vaccine.

The Johnson and Johnson Vaccine is a single shot vaccination that has become one of the more preferred vaccines to give due to it being a single shot compared to Moderna and Phizer.
