17-year-old Jose Soto was arrested for allegedly murdering a man in front of his home after the pair met up for a Facebook sale.

Police have yet to reveal what was being sold, but the victim 39-year-old Dat Truong, was said to have had numerous boxes of sneakers in his garage. Investigators noticed them when they arrived through an open garage door.

Officers responded to a call at 3:30 pm last Thursday at the 22100 Block of Bridgestone Pine Court close to FM-2920. A video shared by ABC13 shows Truong standing on the sidewalk and waiting for the buyer to arrive. Soon after, there was a struggle. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground, which appears to have led to his death.

A second suspect is still at large. If you have any information, place call the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS

Crimes during online sales are becoming more commonplace than ever. Just last November, a 19-year-old woman was arrested for the shocking murder of a man she met online to purchase a cellphone from.

Please use extra caution when buying or selling on Facebook Marketplace. You could even ask the other person to meet you in the parking lot of the sheriff's office to make the sale. Getting killed over an iPhone or a pair of sneakers is ridiculous. It really makes me afraid of what's in the store for the future.
