A crunchy, fresh celery stick can be a healthy and low-calorie snack; however, if you have any in your fridge, you should check them against the latest FDA recall.

Listeria is an organism that can have fatal results for elderly folks, young children, and people with weakened immune systems. Listeria can cause pregnant women to experience stillbirths and miscarriages.

Symptoms of Listeria include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc., produced the celery subject to the recall. The brand name is Marketside Celery Sticks. This brand is available at Walmart stores. This lot was disturbed to Texas Walmart locations.

The Best If Used By Date has passed, however, the recall is in effect in case consumers froze the product for later use.

The contamination was discovered by a random sampling conducted in a Georgia store by the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

The lot code subject to recall is P047650, which is listed on the front of the bag. The UPC is 6 81131 16151 0. Again, the product is past its best-by date, so it is no longer available in stores.

If you have this product in your freezer, do not consume it. Either return it to Walmart for a refund or discard it. No illnesses were reported from this recall, and this recall does not affect any other Makertside products or Duda Farm products.
