Beginning next year, Texans won't have to hop, skip, and jump over to Ruidoso to hit the slopes. We'll be able to ski right here in the Lone Star State.

Alpine-X Indoor Snowsport Resorts, a company out of Virginia, has plans to open two new resorts in Texas by 2026, one in Dallas, and the other in Austin.

It doesn't sound like it will be a silly little indoor hill, either. These resorts will have all kinds of awesome facilities. Plans include a sweet alpine slope and terrain park for skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing.

Other Alpine-X sports facilities bring waterparks, mountain coasters, ropes courses, biking trails, and more outdoor fun, indoors. So far, the Texas plans are all about skiing, but who knows? We may get other fun stuff out of this company here someday, besides the indoor snowpark.
