Did The Devil Really Go Dancing In San Antonio Texas?

Texas has it's share of tall tales, but this one has a lot of specifics attached to it.

I have covered any number of "Texas Crypids"; that would be animals that may or may not exist like "The East Texas Woolybooger" (A kind of Bigfoot). Then I've looked into stories like the "Black Eyed Children Of Abilene". Today's story starts out a bit more grounded and then has a big twist at the end. It's almost like an episode of Creepshow from back in the day.

This is the story of the night the devil went dancing in Texas. It was Halloween night, 1975 in San Antonio Texas. A man came into the El Camaroncito night club. The man was described as handsome and a real charmer. He was dressed all in white and all the ladies wanted to dance with him. Everything was going fine until one of his dancing partners looked down and his shoes had turned into long-clawed chicken feet.

The Texas Terror Continues

The story continues that the woman screamed after seeing the mans transformed feet. He then ran into the bathroom and left through an open window, leaving behind the stench of sulfur in the bathroom. That building still stands today and even now some claim to smell sulfur in the air now and again.

Other Versions

This story has been told time after time, sometime with the feet actually changing into goat hooves. Adding that detail would make it make a bit more sense (the whole devil/hoof thing) but somehow the thought of chicken feet is ultimately creepier. The only other detail that bothers me is, why would the Devil have to go out of a window? That's just weird.
