
Summer In Lubbock Could Be A Record-Breaking Scorcher
Lubbock, Texas is known for hot summers, but this year we may topple some records. Both professionals and the more folksy experts predict that this year will be very hot in the Hub City.
Lubbock is currently enjoying a raining period. In fact, it's been so rainy there's a wee bit of a mold smell when it's not raining. The rain is perfectly timed for farming, but keeping those crops from withering in the sun this summer may be a chore.
Last August Lubbock experienced 28 days of temperatures over 100 degrees. Even then, it was only Lubbock's third hottest summer in 110 years.
Get Ready For Lubbock's Record-Breaking Summer Heat
June is when things generally start heating up in Lubbock and this year June has something special in store for us. As of now the Old Farmer's Almanac is expecting June to be five degrees above normal, and that could be an indicator of another sizzlin' summer.

Narrowing in, you can expect average temperatures in mid 90's with more than a few surges into the 100's. Accuweather, using historical averages, puts the hottest times as late July and early August.
Planning for the heat is one of the most important things you can do. You may want to take a trip out of town during the hotter months, and/or plan indoor projects for that time. It may also be good to go ahead a get a "health-check" on your house's HVAC system to make sure you're prepared.
