I've seen countless women and men debate the topic of public breastfeeding on the internet. It seems like an argument that never ends. Some people think it's immoral or gross to have your boobies out on display. Others recognize that women are simply feeding their hungry babies and that it's not some kind of explicit display of tatas.

So, is it actually legal to breastfeed out in public when you live in Texas?

Luckily, women in Texas are 100% protected by the law when it comes to breastfeeding in public. You can literally breastfeed your child anywhere that you are legally allowed to be, and it's totally illegal for someone to ask you to leave just for breastfeeding publicly. That means you can do it in a store, in a park, here, there, and everywhere, and nobody can tell you a damn thing. As long as women are permitted to be there, breastfeeding is permitted to happen there.

We have a lot of confusing laws in Texas that I don't agree with. This is not one of those. This is fantastic, and to tell you the truth, I'm actually sort of shocked that Texas is so gung-ho about public breastfeeding. Before I looked into it today, I wasn't sure what I would find. I don't have kids of my own, so the topic has never presented itself to me personally, but I've heard plenty of complaints from my friends who were told to "go find a bathroom" while they were publicly breastfeeding. It's good to know that Texas law actually has their back. If only the law could get on track with a few other things that would really help women out...but I digress...

So, ladies, if anyone gives you hell, make sure you let them know that it's illegal for them to kick you out of their establishment.
